n. 接待; 招待會(huì); 接待處

[例句] He had gone to the reception desk, presumably to check out.

他已經(jīng)去前臺(tái)了，可能是要辦理退房手續(xù)。

2. appointment [??p??ntm?nt]

n. 約會(huì); 任命; 職務(wù)

[例句] I hate to rush you but I have another appointment later on.

我真不想催你，但我稍后還有一個(gè)約會(huì)。

adj. 急迫的; 催促的

[例句] There is an urgent need for food and water.

現(xiàn)在急需食物和水。

4. handle [?h?ndl]

n. 手柄，柄狀物

vi. 操作，操控

vt. 握住; 操縱; 負(fù)責(zé)，管理

[例句] The public never had faith in his ability to handle the job.

公眾從來(lái)不相信他有能力勝任這一職位。

n. 傳送，投遞; 分娩

[例句] The strike caused a great delay in the delivery of the mail.

這次罷工嚴(yán)重地延誤了郵件的投遞.

vt. 延期，推遲; 耽擱

vi. 延緩，延期

vt. 通知; 布告

[例句] The court clerk will notify the witness when and where to appear.

n. 環(huán)境，境遇

[例句] You should soon accommodate yourself to the new circumstance.
