不知申請細節，如何合理規劃？手把手教你填Common系統

Common Application網申系統，是美國本科入學網申系統之一，適用于包括哈佛，耶魯，普林斯頓等名校在內的500多所美國大學。該系統使申請人可以更有條理地遞交大學申請，基本信息不需要重復填寫，各學校的特殊要求和截止日期一目了然。

一、注冊賬號

在瀏覽器里，輸入http://www.commonapp.org，進入Common Application首頁。

選擇“APPLICANT LOG IN”已經注冊的用戶直接輸入賬號密碼登錄即可，新用戶點擊GET STARTED，然后彈出的新頁面就是注冊頁面。

注冊頁面一共分為十項：

第一項：設定用戶名和密碼，兩次輸入你的電子郵箱地址，確認您的電子郵箱是正確無誤，郵箱地址即申請賬戶的用戶名，再兩次輸入密碼，此密碼即申請賬戶的密碼，密碼在8-16個字符之間，并至少包括一個大寫字母、一個小寫字母、一個數字、一個字符，不能使用空格，然后點擊“continue”進入下一步。

第二項：填寫個人信息姓名。First/Given Name指的是申請人的名，如申請人名叫張三，即在此處填San。Last/Family/Sur Name 指的是申請人的姓，如申請人名叫張三，即在此處填Zhang

第三項：地址分三行，上面寫不下的可以寫在第二行或第三行。Country是國家，選擇China，City/Town城市或鄉鎮，State/Province指的美國的州，中國人不適用，Zip/Postal Code郵政編碼。

第四項：性別。Sex性別，Female指女性，Male指男性。

第五項：填寫電話信息。第一個框寫086，第二個框寫電話號，注意城市區號要去0，如010寫作10。

第六項：生日。DOB指生日，Month是出生月份，Day是出生那天，Year是出生年份，如某人生日是1996年2月12日，則在Month里選擇2，Day欄選擇12，Year欄選擇1996。

第七項：類型選擇。I am applying as a:有兩個選項，First-Year Student（新生），Transfer Student（轉學生），選擇你的類型

第八項：目的。I am a(n):

Applicant planning to enroll within the next 12 months 計劃接下來12個月內入學的申請者

Counselor interested in learning more about the Common App 對Common App感興趣并想了解更多的顧問

Teacher interested in learning more about the Common App 對Common App感興趣并想了解更多的老師

Other student 其他學生

None of the above 以上都不是

申請者選擇第一個選項

第九項：協議條款

1. The colleges that I am considering for application may communicate with me by email prior to submission of my application (you can subsequently change your response to this question in your account settings).

確認申請的大學在我提交申請之前會通過此Email地址跟我進行溝通（針對上面填寫的個人信息隨后可以在個人賬戶設置里里修改）

2. By checking this box, you represent that (i) you are age 13 or older and (ii) you have read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions of the above License Agreement and Privacy Policy (unless you are over the age of 13 but under the age of 18, in which case, your parent or legal guardian has also read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy and Legal Information sections).

在這條協議前打鉤，就代表一你已滿13歲或者13歲以上，二你已經閱讀、理解并同意許可協議和保密規則的條款和條件（除非你在13-18歲之間，在這種情況下，你的父母或監護人也已經閱讀、理解并同意保密規則和法律信息部分的條款和條件）

第十項：提交。點擊“Create”鍵即可完成注冊。

最后，用注冊的帳號密碼登錄，進入主操作界面。

二、添加學校

三、Profile

Middle name: 一般沒有，不用填

Last/Family/Sur Name: 姓

Suffix: 姓名后綴，Jr之類的

Preferred Name(nickname)：可以填自己一直用的英文名，也可以不填

Have you ever used any other names?: 是否有曾用名

Sex/Male/Female 性別/男/女

Date of birth: 月/日/年

Permanent Home Address 永久/家庭居住地址，如果注冊時沒有填寫永久家庭住址，點擊Edit. Address填寫完畢后選擇Use as entered, 以自己輸入的具體地址為準，系統自己拉取的住址一般不準確。

以比鄰主義留學的地址為例：北京市朝陽區遠洋光華國際AB座7層

Country從列表里選 China

Address Line 1地址欄1：AB-7, Yuanyangguanghuaguoji

Address Line 2 地址欄2：Chaoyang District

City or Town 城市- Beijing

Province 省份- Beijing

Postal Code 郵政編碼- 100020

Alternate mailing address:如果郵寄地址和家庭地址一致，則選擇No alternate address。其他郵寄地址Choose “Send mail to a temporary or alternate address”. 如果你在國外讀書或在寄宿學校讀書，或者家庭地址不方便接受信件，建議寫上Alternate mailing address，即方便接收郵件快遞的地址。

From date/To date: 該郵寄地址的有效期。如過了有效期還是以Permanent Address為準。

具體地址的填寫方法同Permanent Home Address*--

Street Address: starting from room number to street name and then to district and city. Abbreviations are allowed as space is sometimes limited. Common address abbreviations are：Apartment – Apt.，Avenue – Ave.，Block – Blk.，Building – Bldg.，Center – Ctr.，District – Dist., Lane – Ln., Road – Rd., Room – Rm., School – Sch., Street – St., University – Univ.

Email: 推薦創建一個申請郵箱，使用服務穩定的,，一般選用163，不要使用奇怪的名稱作為郵箱賬號。

Preferred phone:首選的電話類型：

Home-家庭固定電話：+86/086+城市區號（城市區號不加0）+電話號碼（如：+86-XXXXXXXX）；

Mobile-手機：+86-11位手機號（如：+86-XXXXXXXXXXX）。建議首選手機號碼。*必須寫申請者本人的號碼，不要寫父母的號碼。

Alternate Phone: 其他聯系方式：No other Phone; Home; Mobile. 建議再填寫一個聯系方式：在國外上學的學生Preferred phone寫國外手機號，Alternate Phone可寫國內手機號或家庭電話 （因為國內手機號在美國期間一般都不用）。在國內上學的學生Preferred phone寫自己的手機號，Alternate Phone可寫家庭電話。

Religious preference：宗教信仰

U.S. Armed forces status：填No relationship或空著不填

Are you Hispanic or Latino：你是拉丁裔美國人或墨西哥人嗎？

Please indicate how you identify yourself. (Select one or more): 請指出你的種族身份（可多選），一般選Asian亞裔。

Which best describes your Asian background：屬于哪一個亞裔背景？中國學生選China。

Country of Birth: 出生國家

City of Birth: 出生地

Number of years you have lived in the United States: 你曾在美國境內居住過幾年。在美上學或在美長期交流都算在美國居住，短期觀光旅游不算。

Number of years you have lived outside the United States：你在美國之外的地方居住幾年，一般就是填18。

Number of languages you are proficient in：你精通的語言數量，一般選2，如果會第二外語，可多選。

Select language：選擇語言，多為Chinese和English。

Language proficiency: 語言精通程度。選First language表示是母語；選Spoken at Home表示在家主要使用語言；選Speak表示能用該語言會話；選Reading表示能用該語言閱讀；選Writing表示能用該語言寫作。For Chinese: 選上First language, Speak, Read, Write and Spoken at home; For English: 一般選上Speak, Read, Write。

Select your citizenship status: 選擇國籍

US citizen 美國公民；US Dual citizen 雙重國籍（其一為美國）；US permanent resident 美國永久居民，既綠卡，如果有綠卡，需要把綠卡身份相關信息填上；other(Non-US)其他，一般中國學生選擇此項Other(Non-US)

Please list your citizenships: 列舉你的國籍，可多選，一般中國學生選擇China

Currently held United States visa：目前擁有的簽證。一般選擇I do not hold a US non-immigrant Visa，如果目前有有效的美國簽證，例如在美國讀高中，填寫你相應的簽證類型(Visa Type)；簽證號(Visa Number); 簽發日期(Date issued)

Do you feel that your financial circumstances might qualify you for an application fee waiver? 你是否覺得你的財力情況無法支付申請費，需要免去學校的申請費？填no就行了，別好奇去嘗試申請waiver

四、Family

Parents' marital status: 父母婚姻狀況

With whom do you make your permanent home: 和誰一起長期生活

Do you have any children? 你有孩子嗎？--當然沒有

Parent 1 Type: 選擇父親或者母親。

Is Parent 1 Living: 該親人是否健在。

Prefix: 稱謂。Dr./Mr./Ms./Mrs.

First/Given name: 名

Last/Family/Sur Name: 姓

Middle Initial & Suffix: 中國人名不適用，空著就行。

Country of Birth: 出生國家

Preferred email & Preferred phone: 家長方便聯系的email和電話，放心填，電話一般沒人聯系。有的ED申請的家長部分會發到你留的郵箱。

Parent 1 address is: 選擇該親人的郵寄地址：一般為the same as my home address。

Occupation: 職業，從下拉列表里面挑選接近的，沒有就填other。

Employment status: 工作情況：在職/失業中/退休。Name of employer: 所在單位/公司名稱, 如 Beijing XXX Co., Ltd.

Parent is employed by or retired from a college or university: 父母是否受雇于某個大學或從某個大學退休?

Education level：父母最高教育程度，填寫一般沒太大影響，雖然美國學校一般每年都有第一代大學生的統計數字。 *None無； Some Grade/Primary School 小學未畢業; Completed Grade/Primary School 小學畢業； Some High/Secondary School 高中未畢業; Graduated from High/Secondary School or equivalent 高中畢業; Some Trade School類似國內的職業學校；Graduated Trade School職校/中專畢業；Some College/University大學未畢業；Graduated from College/University 大學畢業；Graduate School: 研究生畢業。

如果選擇了College/University & Graduate School -> Total numbers of institutions attended: 就讀的大學水平學校的數量 。

College lookup: 查找學校，國內的學校大多找不到，選擇 “I don’t see the college I’m looking for on the list.”，自行輸入自己的大學官方翻譯就行。

Number of degrees your parent received from this college: 從這所大學獲得的學位數量 -> Degree received: 獲得哪類學位

Year Received: 獲得學位的年份

Please specify number of siblings you have: 請指出你的兄弟姐妹的數量。親的，表兄妹，堂兄妹不算。若有親兄弟姐妹，還需填寫姓名、年齡和學歷等信息。

五、Education

School Lookup: 查找學校，在School Name, Country或City中輸入關鍵詞，如果找到學校信息，點中學校名，Continue之后, 學校的名稱地址和CEEB Code就會自動顯示，請核對顯示的內容是否準確。若沒有搜索結果，選擇“I don’t see the college I’m looking for on the list.”， 選Continue，自己輸入學校詳細信息: 英文名稱，地址，聯系電話。

Date of entry：入學時間 Month/Year

Is this a boarding school? 你的學校是不是寄宿學校。

Graduation date：畢業時間或預計畢業時間Month/Day/Year，知道具體時間的填準確的，不清楚的填大概日期就行，一般寫7月的某一天。

Counselor's prefix：學校升學顧問Counselor的稱謂， Counselor's first name：學校Counselor的名， Counselor's last name: 學校Counselor的姓。

Counselor's job title: 學校Counselor的職位。國外學校的Counselor職位一般就是College Counselor或Tutor, 國內學校的Counselor一般是選Head Teacher班主任；Class Teacher 年級主任或Principal校長。

Counselor's email：學校Counselor的郵箱，此為必填項目，否則Education部分不完整。一定是常用郵箱，萬一收不到郵件，加上老師英文不太好，容易影響申請進程。

Counselor's phone：學校Counselor的電話，辦公電話或者手機都行。

If you have attended any other schools, please indicate number of schools 請指出9-12年級你上過的學校的數量。所以如果國內學生初中和高中不同，需要算上初中學校。如果有過轉學，需要將之前上過的高中都寫上。如果你參加過國外學校交流學習，也需要填寫交流學校的信息。

School 2 or 3 Look up: 方式和上述的查找學校是一樣的。

School 2 from date；School 2 to date：其他學校的在校時間，如實填寫就行。

Community-Based Organizations 參加協助申請的項目數量，直接在下拉列表里選擇0。

Please indicate if your progression through secondary school was or will be delayed or interrupted in any way. Please check all that apply：正常情況下就選擇：I have no interruption to report。如果中學階段你的學業曾被中斷或將不能按期完成，請選擇：中學學業中斷情況：did not/will not graduate未畢業；did/will graduate early提前畢業；did/will graduate late延遲畢業；did/will change secondary schools更換學校；did/will take time off臨時休學；did/will take gap year晚一年入學did/will receive GED參加GED考試得到高中學歷，國內學生不適用。

If you have taken a college/university course beginning with 9th grade, please indicate number of colleges 如果從9年級開始你有參加過在大學課程（例如Summer School/Program），請填寫上過課的大學數量。如果沒有上過，就填0。現在Summer School讀過的同學不少，記得填進去，美高學生的dual credit課程也可以填進去。

Class rank reporting 年級排名，根據情況做選擇： Exact: 精確排名；Decile 按10%來分段；Quintile: 按20%來分段；Quartile: 按25%來分段。沒有年級排名，填None就行。

Class rank：你的具體年級排名。請根據真實情況填寫。

Rank weighting：排名如何評分：根據成績單上的標注，國內學生一般都是unweighted。

如果正式成績單上沒有年級排名的信息，填 None。

Graduating class size (approx.) ：畢業年級人數，注意不是班級人數，如果不清楚，需要和學校老師確認人數。

Cumulative GPA: 學校有GPA就填寫，沒有的話就不用填寫,不需要自行轉換。該信息要與實際情況或學校成績單上顯示的一致。

GPA scale：GPA總分。沒有GPA的，這項不用填寫。

How many courses would you like to report? 填寫的數字原則上與實際所上課程數或之后正式成績單上顯示的課程數量一致。

Please select the course scheduling system your institution is using：Semester or Trimester

你的學校課程時間是兩學期制還是三學期制的。國內學校一般一學年兩學期，選Semester。根據實際情況選擇。

Course title：課程名稱與成績單上一致，如：English, Mathematics等。

Course level, if applicable：根據學校課程情況填寫。國外的學生或國內的國際班學生可能要填寫如IB課程，AP課程，Honor課程等，國內普通課程一般這項都不適用。

Course schedule：課程開設計劃，全年都上這門課，還是一個semester或是一個trimester。

If you have received any honors related to your academic achievements beginning with the ninth grade or international equivalent, please indicate number of honors 如果你從9年級開始獲得的獎項，最好是和學術有關的獎項，還有國際范圍內的獎項，最好按時間倒序填寫，請指出獎項的數量。最多填5項。

Honor Title: 獎項名稱。

Grade level: 9 初三；10 高一；11 高二；12 高三；Post-Graduate 畢業后Gap year。

Level(s) of Recognition: 最高獲獎的級別，School 校級；State/Regional 地區級、市級、省級；National國家級；International國際級。

Career interest：職業興趣，和自己的ps、essay匹配，如果沒有明確的可以選Undecided。

Highest degree you intend to earn: 想要求學的最高學位，大概寫個想法。

六、Testing

In addition to sending official score reports as required by colleges, do you wish to self-report scores or future test dates for any of the following standardized tests: ACT, SAT/SAT Subject, AP, IB, TOEFL, PTE Academic, and IELTS? 除了會根據大學要求遞送正式的分數，是否希望自己匯報以下這些標準化考試成績：選Yes，然后根據自己的情況選擇

Indicate all tests you wish to report. Be sure to include tests you expect to take in addition to tests you have already taken. 指出所有你想填寫的考試類型。包括你已參加過的考試和你將要參加的考試。一般情況填： SAT Tests, SAT Subject Tests（常說的SAT2）, TOEFL IBT，Advanced Placement。 如有多次考試，最好和老師商量一下遞交策略。

每項選擇的Test需要具體填寫1. 到目前為止考了幾次。2. 未來是否還準備再考。3. 每門考試的最高分數及考試時間，或者單項分數的最高分及考試時間。

International Applicants: Is promotion within your educational system based upon standard leaving examinations given at the end of lower and/or senior secondary school by a state or national leaving examinations board? 此問題針對國際學生，在你所屬的教育體系里，中學畢業是否有基于國家組織的畢業考試？國內普通高中的學生，選擇 Yes (因為該系統的 Leaving Examinations 選項中存在高考)。 美國高中就讀的學生，選擇 No。讀英國 A-level 課程的學生，選 Yes。讀 IB 課程的學生，選 Yes。國際班選No，SAT不算。

小提示 1: TOEFL，以“填寫總分最高那次成績”的原則，一般次數寫1, 一般ETS上TOEFL送分只送一次的。如果你考過的兩次分數都比較滿意也很接近，如110或109，那么也可以填寫考試次數是2。反之分數相差太多還是填寫1次。填寫時也需要對比每次考試成績各單項分數，權衡填寫。例如：A次總分100，B次總分105，B次除了Listening比A次低2分，其他3項均比A次高，則只填B次的4項成績。又如：A次總分100，Speaking 25；B次總分105，Speaking 20；則填A次的Speaking和B次的其他3項成績。

小提示 2: 讀IB課程的學生需要在這項添加IB Subject Tests: 并填寫Test taken or planned的對應信息。

Senior Secondary Leaving Examinations如果上面那項選擇了 Yes：Number of Senior Secondary Leaving Examinations you have already taken. 到目前為止你已經參加了幾門考試。當屆學生還未參加過該項考試，填寫 0。Gap year 的學生如果已經考過了，根據情況填寫。

七、Activities

Do you have any activities that you wish to report? 你希望匯報你所參加的活動嗎？選擇Yes

Activity No. 1-10:

Activity Type: 下拉列表選擇活動類別。

Position/Leadership deion and organization name, if applicable: 擔任的職位和體現的領導力以及活動組織的名稱。

Details, honors, and accomplishments: 具體描述活動內容，獲得的榮譽和成就。

列舉你參加的課外活動，社團，志愿者等等，注意選擇能突出你興趣廣泛度和個人能力的活動，按活動對你個人的重要性或時間多少排序。應參考你的Activity List/Resume里面的資料。

Participation grade levels: 參加該活動的年級 注：Post-graduate指高中畢業后。

Timing of participation: 參加時間：During School Year-在學年期間，During School Break-在學校假期間，All Year-一整年。

Hours spent per week: 每周參加活動的小時數； Weeks spent per year：一年中開展活動的周數。

I intend to participate while in college: 我是否想要在大學階段繼續參加此類活動Note: 填寫活動時按照重要性排序，最重要的活動寫在最前面，以此類推。

八、Writing

Personal Essay：有些學校要求學生在Common上提交個人陳述，有些學校則不需要，在這個頁面會看到添加的學校里面哪些學校是需要的，哪些學校是不需要的。但是一般比較好的學校都會要求學生寫個人陳述。Please write an essay (250-650 words) on the topic selected. 請選擇一下任意一個topic, 寫一篇250-650個字的個人陳述。

Disciplinary history: always NO

九、推薦信

After completing Education in Common App first, you can go to Dashboard to do it. Click college name and then it displays the link of Recommender and FERPA with Incomplete indication

Click this link, and finish FERPA Release Authorization. Check all the items, must choose “I waive my right to review all recommendations and supporting documents submitted by me or on my behalf”, and sign your name with the date. Then close the window

對于高中沒有Naviance系統來提交成績單和推薦信等材料的學生：點擊鏈接Invite Counselor 和Invite Teacher: 分別輸入Counselor(只有一個)和至少兩個在校Teacher(一個文科老師，一個理科老師)的對應信息。學科老師一般建議找10年級或11年級的任課老師。

Counselor's Email or Teacher’s Email: 這項涉及到Counselor Rec Letter/School Report和Teacher Rec letters/Teacher Evaluations推薦信是否在線提交以及學校表格是否在線填寫。

如果你想提交紙質學校表格，一般這里就不要填寫老師的Email，如果你想邀請老師填寫網上表格，請確保此項Email地址正確有效, 而且是該老師唯一用于申請的Email。

Click “Send Invite”, and you will see 3 teachers’ info is in the bottom column. Back to the previous Recommender page, all school forms are showed if you invite teachers offline (not provide their emails). You should download these PDF forms for preparations. Otherwise, the Common App website will send emails to teachers’ mailbox once you invite them online and ask them to do the online submission.

對于高中有Naviance系統來提交的學生:不需要在自己的CA賬戶里進行操作，直接聯系學校Counselor, 他們會幫助把你的Common App賬戶和Naviance賬戶關聯起來，并完成相關材料的提交。但需注意在Deadline左右的時間，請回到CA上Recommenders該頁面，可查看Counselor是否已經替你在Naviance上Submit材料的狀態和情況。若狀態顯示尚未遞交，請務必提醒老師及時遞交相關材料。
