提前參加A-level考試更能打動招生官？你可能想錯(cuò)了......

很多小伙伴心里都有一個(gè)共同的疑問，

提前參加A-level考試是否能更打動招生官？

答案是：不一定！

為什么這么說呢？

PS:大家要注意從2015年9月開始，

英國A-level就已經(jīng)開始改革了，

AS不再計(jì)入A-level總成績。

小伙伴們可能會想，

是不是可以提前參加考試，

來證明自己是學(xué)習(xí)能力更強(qiáng)的優(yōu)等生、

可以輕松達(dá)到大學(xué)教育的要求，

其實(shí)這么做未必有用！

大學(xué)招生官，尤其是名校，

雖然他們也在尋找高分學(xué)生，

但是絕不僅僅只看高分。

他們希望了解Year 13階段學(xué)生是如何應(yīng)對繁重課業(yè)的。

這也就是說，

提前考試對你可能沒啥幫助，

甚至可能也不算作offer參考的一部分。

羅素大學(xué)聯(lián)盟給出的解釋是：

Some universities or their individual subject departments may want to see that you have taken a number of Advanced level qualifications all at the same time; for example, they may want to see three A-levels taken in Year 13.

有些大學(xué)或者個(gè)別科系可能希望看到你同時(shí)學(xué)習(xí)幾門A-level；比如說，Year 13學(xué)習(xí)三門A-level。

This can be because they want to know that you can comfortably manage a workload of this size… Admissions policies may therefore ?in relation to A-levels taken early, and whether?these are included in offers made or not.

因?yàn)樗麄兿胫滥阌心芰娜輵?yīng)對這樣的課業(yè)量...所以是否計(jì)入offer，各大學(xué)對于提前考取的成績錄取政策可能會有所不同。

For example, some courses that typically make a conditional offer of AAB may take account of an A-level A grade achieved at the end of Year 12 and, as a result, make a conditional offer of AB for A-levels taken in Year 13. Others may still make a conditional offer of AAB on subjects taken at the end of Year 13 and will not include the A-level already taken in their conditional offer.”

比方說，一般要求成績AAB的課程，可能也會接受Year 12結(jié)束時(shí)考的一科成績A，發(fā)放offer的條件是Year 13的A-level成績只要達(dá)到AB就可以。

而其他一些學(xué)校，可能還是會要求Year 13結(jié)束后三門課成績達(dá)到AAB，提前考的A-level并不計(jì)入他們的conditional offer。

提前考試是否是明智之舉？

還有個(gè)問題大家需要考慮，

就是提前考能否像一年以后再考拿到一樣的高分。

大家要記住，

最終看的還是你的分?jǐn)?shù)，

而不是你什么時(shí)候考試。

This is what academics call the ‘a(chǎn)ge and stage’ issue. It is important that schools look at this issue in a holistic way and do what’s best for their students to achieve the grades required for their goals. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that all universities are very happy with applicants meeting the conditions of their offers when they have taken all of their A2 levels in Year 13.

這就是學(xué)術(shù)上所說的“年齡與階段”問題。最重要的是學(xué)校從全面的角度考慮，為學(xué)生能夠達(dá)到目標(biāo)要求的成績鋪平道路。大家不要忘了，所有大學(xué)都非常愿意看到申請者在Year 13學(xué)習(xí)所有A2課程后達(dá)到他們的offer要求。

提早考數(shù)學(xué)是否合理？如果你比較擅長數(shù)學(xué)，那理論上來說可以Years 9 /10學(xué)習(xí)GCSE數(shù)學(xué)、Year 11學(xué)習(xí)AS數(shù)學(xué)，Year 12學(xué)習(xí)A-level數(shù)學(xué)，然后Year 13學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)階數(shù)學(xué)。
如果你已經(jīng)提前學(xué)了，那么能否把一個(gè)單元留到Y(jié)ear 13再考？這樣就可以跟Year 13學(xué)習(xí)的其他課程一起獲得證書。
