學(xué)生發(fā)現(xiàn)心理學(xué)領(lǐng)域具有相關(guān)性和吸引力，因?yàn)樗菍ξ覀冏约汉臀覀冎車娜说难芯俊＿@門心理學(xué)入門課程將包含通過科學(xué)調(diào)查了解到有關(guān)我們的行為和思想的有趣問題的答案。我們大腦中的微小神經(jīng)元如何結(jié)合起來形成豐富的經(jīng)驗(yàn)？我們?nèi)绾侮P(guān)注、記住和思考我們周圍的世界？在我們的一生中，我們的思維和行為是如何發(fā)展的？我們的行為在哪些方面受到他人的影響？什么樣的心理障礙會(huì)影響我們，最有效的治療方法是什么？為了回答這些問題以及更多的問題，本課程將通過回顧每個(gè)研究領(lǐng)域的實(shí)證研究，涵蓋心理學(xué)的突出領(lǐng)域（如神經(jīng)科學(xué)、認(rèn)知心理學(xué)、發(fā)展心理學(xué)、社會(huì)心理學(xué)、臨床心理學(xué)）。對于最后的項(xiàng)目，學(xué)生將分析并展示收集的真實(shí)數(shù)據(jù)，以回答感興趣的研究問題。

Gain an appreciation of psychology?as?a science by learning how research methods help us explore and answer questions about human behavior.

Explore the history, theories, and controversies that guide major disciplines in psychology.

Review famous psychological research such?as?the work of B. F. Skinner,?Elizabeth Loftus,?Jean Piaget, and Stanley Milgram.

Develop skills to critically evaluate and articulate?claims about psychology?in written and spoken form.

Learn to identify and apply psychological concepts by taking trips to off-campus locations, including New York City.

Design and carry out a research project that focuses on an area of psychology.
