項目介紹

SSEP成立于1990年，每年為100多名女孩提供服務。自成立以來，共有近1800名高中生參加，代表46個州、哥倫比亞特區、 Puerto Rico和53個國家。計劃結束后，參加者回到高中就可以更好地準備攻讀艱難的科學課程并了解大學。

史密斯學院（Smith College）是美國最受好評的文理學院之一，也是全美最大的專門致力于女性教育的學院之一。史密斯科學學院聘用了該國一些最優秀的研究人員和教師。1999年，史密斯（Smith）成為美國第一所建立自己的工程科學專業計劃（Picker Engineering Program）的女子學院。

該項目的核心是一個充滿榜樣的學習環境。SSEP提供實踐、合作、調查和具有挑戰性的學習——在這里，女孩們得到所有教師的關注，并鼓勵他們達到最佳。史密斯大學理科生也擔任助教。
