High School | 2019 Sports Meet

On Thursday, October 17, 2019, students of SHSID experienced another successful Sports Meet. Even the weather turned out to be sunny and suitable for sports despite a forecast of rain.

2019年10月16日，體育周又推向了高潮，國際部高中段師生們迎來了一年一度的盛大活動——運動會。恰逢天公作美，這一天陽光朗照又有秋風習習。同學們統一穿著白色短袖運動服，滿眼皆是意氣風發的青春少年。

Opening Ceremony

First, each class marched along the track field and positioned themselves in front of the crowd. They then presented passionate performances for the audience, who seemed to love the show judging from their thunderous applause and high-pitched screams. As they performed, each class also presented their assigned topics.

After the students completed their march and performances, they cleared the stage for the teachers’ performance. Accompanied by the song Y.M.C.A., the teachers began their impressively choreographed dance celebrating the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. The crowd cheered and shouted; everyone was glad to see their favorite teachers out on the stage.

伴隨著慷慨激昂的背景音樂，同學們踏著整齊的步伐隆重登場。先出場的是九、十年級的同學們。他們神采奕奕，分別以動漫角色和中國各地省市為主題進行了展示。隨后十一、十二年級的同學以大學和國家為主題進行了入場展示。同學們或整齊劃一地舉著制作精良的道具，或穿著各式服飾全心投入地扮演著角色，讓人印象深刻。隨后，老師們也獻上了精彩的演出以慶祝新中國成立70周年。

Track and Field Competitions

After this wonderful performance ended, it was time for the most exciting part of the Sports Meet—track and field competitions. The students competed in races such as the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-long run, 1500-meter long run, and 4 X 100-meter run, in which students competed against each other while representing their classes. The excitement spread through the audience as they roared for victory and yelled supportively to their classmates. Apart from running, there were track and field events like the long-jump, the high-jump, and shot put.

領導致辭后，隨著一聲：“運動會正式開始。”這場盛事正式拉開帷幕。各類運動項目令人目不暇接，鉛球、跳遠、實心球、田徑、跳高、接力賽、啦啦操比賽......不論是團體還是個人項目，同學們都用盡全力拼搏，不負自己，不負青春，他們的熱情使學校煥發出新的活力。

Carnival

The SHSID Sports Meet is not only for student athletes, but for everyone. Many sports-themed activities were held for students and faculty to participate in.

同時，校運動會不僅是運動健將們大展身手的舞臺，也是所有教員與學生了解體育、關注體育的絕佳機會。在常規的競技項目之外，今年的運動會還添加了更多豐富有趣的活動，讓同學們在嘉年華中獲得更多精彩的體驗。

Charity Run

During the cheer leading competition, each class took turns to give their class performance on the stage and bolstered up student’s morale by conveying their unique class spirit to everyone. A blending of atheistic beauty and athletic values are presented to the audience, bringing a visual enjoyment to all students.

在大禮堂中是以班級為單位的啦啦操比拼。在比賽中，每個班級輪流上臺表演，向大家傳遞獨特的班級精神的同時鼓舞了同學們的士氣。在這里，體育競技與藝術之美的完美結合為大家帶來了感官的多重享受。

Taking place on the soccer field, the dodge ball competition between students and faculty members brought joy to all students as they form a strong bond with their tutors.

在同學們的期盼中，師生躲避球比賽在足球場上舉行。在此學術活動中，同學們和老師們分成兩個陣營進行比拼。這個活動往往是每年同學們最期待的，因為大家能夠跟老師們直接對抗。同時，學生們也借此機會與老師們建立起良好的關系。

The flag football game brought together many American football fans, both players and spectators. The competing teams fought in full strength to try beat the opponents, and the excellent sportsmanship and talent on display brought out the best representation of power and youth in the students.

美式橄欖球比賽吸引了許多橄欖球迷作為球員和觀眾投入比賽。兩支參賽隊伍全力拼搏，試圖擊敗對手，優秀的體育精神和才能充分展示了學生的青春與活力。

Besides, multiple varsity sport activities were presented by the corresponding school team and coaches: in the Badminton court，the audiences were given the chance to play badminton with experienced players, every of them excited to practice and show off their skills while in the tennis center the participants were introduced to the art of darts and getting to know the rules and facts of this fascinating game.

在乒羽中心里展開的羽毛球活動中，同學們與經驗豐富的校隊成員、教練彼此切磋，磨煉自己的擊球水平。在網球中心甚至還有飛鏢學術活動，在向同學們介紹了飛鏢藝術的同時也讓大家對于這一體育項目的規則與要求有了更多了解。讓有不同特長和興趣的同學們充分地發揮他們體育方面的技術和熱情。

Through all these activities during the Sports Meet, students got to know more about various athletic activities they can participate in, established rapport with their teachers and enhanced their collaboration skills. Surely, the 2019 sports meet has already became a pleasant and fond memory for all students.

通過這次運動會，充實又豐富的活動能夠激起同學們對于體育的熱情。學校堅信同學們一定會借此機會培養起對于運動的習慣和興趣，并在學習的空余時間中鍛煉身體，為今后的學習和生活打下一個堅實的基礎。毫無疑問，2019學年秋季運動會在國際部同學的內心深處留下了一段難忘的回憶。
