Before Shanghai High School International Division’s annual sports meet start, all sorts of preparations for the upcoming event are starting to unfold according to plan. Students are joining the activities with joy and passion, pushing the school into the lively atmosphere of the sports meetbefore it has even started.

上海中學(xué)國際部一年一度的運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)召開之前，運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)各項(xiàng)準(zhǔn)備活動(dòng)就已經(jīng)如火如荼地開展起來了。在體育周中，國際部高中師生們都積極參與到各個(gè)活動(dòng)里，校園提前進(jìn)入到運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的熱烈氣氛中。

Come and Get Your Stamps!

Weeks before the sports meet, students have already started to join rounds after rounds of preliminaries, which guaranteed the true quality and the level of the competitions themselves. The competitors utilized their time during PE periods and afterschool to practice for their big day regardless of the deathly heat waves from the sun. Teachers guide the contenders along and way, even joining into the sports themselves in order to maintain top form for the dodge ball match they’ll compete in. Hopefully, all the students and teachers can obtain the outcome they are satisfied with and, most importantly, have tons of fun.

早在運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的前幾周，同學(xué)們已經(jīng)開始了一輪又一輪的賽前預(yù)選，保證了真正的比賽的高水平質(zhì)量。參賽選手不顧烈日炎炎，利用體育課和放學(xué)時(shí)間進(jìn)行賽前訓(xùn)練。而老師們在指導(dǎo)學(xué)生練習(xí)的同時(shí)，也一同參與到各項(xiàng)體育鍛煉中，為運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)當(dāng)天的師生排球?qū)官惡投惚芮驅(qū)官惐３肿罴褷顟B(tài)。預(yù)祝同學(xué)和老師們都能在比賽中取得好成績。

Other than the competitions, students and teachers are working very hard to prepare for the grand opening ceremony, cheer leading competition, and carnival, which will all be highlights of the sports meet. In order to let the students enjoy the amazing performance by both Chinese and foreign teachers, teachers stayed after school a couple days, learning and perfecting their dance-moves. Students are looking forward to this great event, where they can watch teachers moving in unison and dancing with style. The cheerleading dances performed by different classes of students are definitely exceptional as well. Every class presented 12 of their best to form their cheerleading team. These representatives’ performance directly affect to their classes’ honor, and because of this, they’ve started to practice more than half a month ago. Their work and efforts will bring them the best outcome, joy, and surprises to the sports meet itself.

除了比賽項(xiàng)目，老師和同學(xué)們也在緊鑼密鼓地籌備著運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)當(dāng)天的各項(xiàng)特色活動(dòng)，比如開幕式、啦啦操比賽，以及嘉年華活動(dòng)。為了讓同學(xué)們在開幕式上看到上中國際的老師的精彩表現(xiàn)，中外教們一次次利用放學(xué)的時(shí)間學(xué)習(xí)和排練啦啦操。看到練習(xí)場上老師們整齊的隊(duì)形、統(tǒng)一的著裝、標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的動(dòng)作，同學(xué)們對運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)又增添了一分期待。學(xué)生的啦啦操比賽也毫不遜色，由每一個(gè)班十二人組成的啦啦操團(tuán)隊(duì)的表現(xiàn)直接關(guān)系到班級的榮譽(yù)。因此，早在距離運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)還有半個(gè)月之久的時(shí)候，各個(gè)班級就已經(jīng)開始了緊密的訓(xùn)練，力求在比賽中呈現(xiàn)出最精彩的舞蹈作品。希望他們付出的每一滴汗水都能換來最好的作品，為運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)帶來更多驚喜和歡樂。

Another highlight of this event is the “Spirit Week”. Students and teachers from grade nine to twelve are welcomed to dress however they want according to the theme of each day of the week. The first day is the “Merch Day” in which students and teachers are asked to wear merchandise of any university or even our own school. On this day, people can find logos and titles of many different amazing universities that include MIT, Harvard, and Stanford. Following right behind is the “Twins Day”. Students and teachers could dress up in the same outfit or theme as their friends. The last day is the shiniest day as it is the “Spot Light Day”. On this day, students can choose to dress up in red, yellow, or blue. The campus will be even more colorful than before.

體育周的另一個(gè)重頭戲是著裝日活動(dòng)，九到十二年級的師生可以根據(jù)每天的主題進(jìn)行著裝。第一天打頭陣的活動(dòng)是“Merch Day”，服裝要求是任何大學(xué)或者學(xué)校體育校隊(duì)的紀(jì)念服飾。在14號當(dāng)天，甄陶樓和先棉堂內(nèi)到處可見穿著各所著名大學(xué)紀(jì)念服的同學(xué)們，其中不乏MIT、哈佛、斯坦福等名校。15日為 “Twins Day”，顧名思義就是要和自己的好朋友組隊(duì)穿相同款式或者顏色的衣服。在走廊里隨處可見“撞衫”的同學(xué)們。最后一天是最萬眾矚目的“Spot Light”，同學(xué)們可以選擇紅色、黃色，或藍(lán)色進(jìn)行著裝，秋日的校園里色彩斑斕熱鬧非凡。

The chain of activities presented in the upcoming sports week will be the starter of the sports meet itself. Although the event has not started yet, the students and the teachers have already felt the vibes and experienced the beauty of sports. Now, all we need to do is to wait for sports meet to come and give it our warmest welcome.

體育周的一系列活動(dòng)為上海中學(xué)國際部高中運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)打響了頭炮，也為豐富多彩的校園生活增添亮眼的一筆。真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)還沒開始，師生們卻早已感受到了運(yùn)動(dòng)的氣氛，體驗(yàn)到了體育的魅力。接下來，讓我們摩拳擦掌，迎接運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的到來。
