Meredith Guo

Dan Wang

At the beginning of the activity, each group discussed for a few minutes, and tried many kinds of methods to solve the problem.
After a while, our group completed the task really quickly, however it didn’t count because the chopstick was on the glass. But then, we discussed the reasons and found the right method to do so. When all of us put our fingers on the rice and tried over and over, it was very easy to lift the cup at the end.

Each group looked forward to being the first to finish the activity. As I have seen, we have utilized at least a dozen of ways to try to solve it, but none of them worked. And after a while, teacher finally told us:This is a teamwork activity. That inspired us a lot!
We used our thumbs to press the rice together, and finally we succeeded.I’m sure that everyone has learned the importance of teamwork after this class activity.

This activity sounded pretty simple, didn’t it? We put rice and chopstick into the cup and tried to bring it up, but we failed. We tried again, and we failed again. One more try, and one more failure.
Were you kidding? How could it work! So we started to improve the methods. We pushed the rice closer to the chopstick and tried to liftthe cup, but it still didn’t work. Finally, we got a clue from the other group which had already finished the activity. All of our teammates needed to push the rice together to make them more dense around the chopstick. We all spoke together: One, Two, Push. By using this method, we succeeded after a few trials. We all laughed joyfully. This activity was so meaningful. We realized we need to work, study and even entertain to make ourselves, our friends, our whole class more enjoyable and more powerful!
