Programme Overview

Machine learning, data mining and high-performance computing are concerned with the automated analysis of large-scale data by computer, in order to extract the useful knowledge hidden in it. Using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence methods, this technology builds computer systems capable of learning from past experience, allowing them to adapt to new tasks, predict future developments and provide intelligent decision support.機器學習、數據挖掘和高性能計算是計算機對大規模數據進行自動分析，以提取其中隱藏的有用知識。該技術采用最先進的人工智能方法，構建了能夠從過去經驗中學習的計算機系統，使其能夠適應新的任務，預測未來發展，并提供智能決策支持。

The pass mark set by the University for any level 7(M) unit is 50 out of 100.

Academic Requirements

An upper second-class honours degree with a final average of 65 per cent or above (or international equivalent) in any subject other than computer science.
