UKiset：英國私立學(xué)校的敲門磚

說到英國留學(xué)，絕大多數(shù)人首先想到的語言考試就是雅思考試(IELTS)。但這主要是針對年滿18周歲的留學(xué)生，對于18周歲以下的國際生需要參加UKiset考試，即英國私立學(xué)校入學(xué)考試。UKiset

英國共240多所學(xué)校把UKiset作為入學(xué)篩選的必要環(huán)節(jié)。不同的英國私校把它放在招生的不同階段所使用，許多的英國頂尖私校都認(rèn)可UKiset，并且將它作為招生步驟的首要環(huán)節(jié)，如伊頓公學(xué)(Eton College)、切特豪斯中學(xué)(Charterhouse)、溫切斯特公學(xué)(Winchester College)以及英國凱特王妃的母校馬爾伯勒學(xué)校(Marlborough College)等。

1什么是UKiset

UKiset——UK independent schools’ entry test, 全稱為英國私立學(xué)校入學(xué)測試。是一項自適應(yīng)性在線入學(xué)考試，考試語言為英文。這項考試是很多英國私立學(xué)校招生的一個輔助測試。它以智能的方法考核學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)能力和發(fā)展?jié)撃埽菐椭R別候選人的優(yōu)缺點和學(xué)習(xí)偏好的一種標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化測評。

2UKiset?考察內(nèi)容

一、推理考試

整個推理考試由3個小部分組成:

1. 文字推理 Verbal Reasoning: 文字推理包括了正義詞、反義詞、近義詞等英語詞匯類的測試。

2. 數(shù)學(xué)Quantitative Reasoning: 數(shù)學(xué)測試包含了一些適齡的基本數(shù)學(xué)計算題與解析題以此來測試學(xué)生的數(shù)學(xué)應(yīng)用能力。

c) 非文字推理 Non-verbal Reasoning: 這部分測試包括了邏輯思維和空間想象能力的測試，以此來評定學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)潛力。

二、劍橋英語考試 English Reading and Listening （receptive Language）

劍橋英語主要測試學(xué)生聽力、閱讀和語法等英語運用能力。并 將成績按照最高C2，最低A1來進(jìn)行劃分。

三、創(chuàng)意寫作 Handwritten essay (expressive English skills)

按照考生的年齡不同給出不同的題目，考生需要在30分鐘內(nèi)完成 一篇150-300字的寫作。創(chuàng)意寫作部分將不會被評分，但是會與學(xué)生的另外兩部分成績一起遞交給學(xué)校，學(xué)校以此來評定學(xué)生的寫作能力和英語運用能力。

3UKiset針對哪個年齡段的考生

譯賽考試UKiset面向所有9~18歲的學(xué)生，申請者根據(jù)自己的年齡段報名參加相應(yīng)的譯賽UKiset考試，通過譯賽考試UKiset讓學(xué)生了解到自己現(xiàn)階段的水平是否達(dá)到了一定的國際水平。學(xué)校會根據(jù)學(xué)生的考試成績決定是否錄取該學(xué)生。

注意:UKiset（譯賽）考試每位學(xué)生每半年（6個月）可以申請考試一次
