2023 John Locke寫作競賽本月即將公布賽題！（附John Locke寫作競賽輔導課程）

John Locke官網近日更新了2023年的比賽預告，23年新賽季的題目將于1月公布，?這比上一年的開題時間早了至少有一個月。

其中截稿日依舊是 6 月 30 日，這意味著 2023 年的選手將至少有額外 1 個月的時間備賽。

同時，今年的學術活動也和往屆一樣分為 “7+1” 個參賽小組，分別為哲學、政治、經濟、歷史、心理學、神學、法學、以及 Junior 賽區。

John Locke Essay Competition（約翰·洛克論文學術活動）寫作學術活動是由位于英國牛津的獨立教育組織John Locke Institute與牛津、普林斯頓、布朗等名校教授合作組織的學術項目，其評審全部來自英國牛津大學，參賽對象為全世界范圍內思考能力最強的中學生。在比賽中獲得distinction可以大幅提升美國和英國大學本科申請競爭力。往年參與學生錄取成績包括牛津、劍橋、普林斯頓、哈佛、耶魯、斯坦福、芝加哥、伯克利等世界名校。

John Locke Institute鼓勵年輕人培養寫作技巧和個人寫作特點：獨立思考、知識深度、清晰推理、批判性分析和有說服力的風格。該征文比賽希望學生們在學校課程的限制之外，廣泛探索具有挑戰性的有趣問題。

2023年John Locke學術活動信息

任何國家的學生都可以報名參加John Locke Essay Competition。參賽者需要在2023年6月30日前未滿18歲。(青少年組的參賽人需14歲或以下)。

每篇論文只能針對一個問題，寫一篇不超過2000字的文章（不包括圖表、數據表格、腳注、書目或作者聲明）。提交論文以pdf格式保存。

pdf文件命名方式：

SURNAME, First Name, Category, Question Number

姓、名、類別、問題編號

（例如：POPHAM, Alexander, Psychology, Q2）

學術活動主要時間節點

提交截止日期：2023年6月30日英國時間23:59分

2023年7月14日：宣布入圍候選人

2023年9月份：各個獎項頒獎晚宴

獎項設置

Grand Prize (終極獎）一人

獲獎者將被授予John Locke學院10,000美元的榮譽獎學金，用于參加學院一個或多個暑期學校或gap year課程。

在各類學科下再分設：

Winner（冠軍）一人；Second Prize（二等獎）一人；Third Prize（三等獎）一人

獲獎者將獲得2000美元獎學金，用于覆蓋John Locke學院任何課程的費用。

1對1 ? 20小時課程

John Locke Essay Competition主要考察學生哪些能力？

（1）是否了解哲學，政治，經濟，歷史，心理學，神學或法律等學科領域的基本知識結構

（2）是否掌握議論文的基本寫作格式和技巧

（3）是否在文章中展現獨立的思想，清晰的邏輯和辯證的分析方式

一般中學生以上幾項能力都較為薄弱，通過該寫作課程，你將有機會靜下心來辯證地分析觀點，學習英文寫作的邏輯思維和技巧，收獲參與寫作比賽的寶貴經歷，并更好地應對IB/AP/A-Level等學術寫作。

課程內容涵蓋：

John Locke Essay Competition Outline1V1

Course will be a total of 20 hours. 16 Hours will be dedicated to an online course, while the other 4 will be spent on personal essay editing.

The course will be 10 sessions, with each session being 2 hours each. (C) stands for Course classes, while (E) stands for editing workloads.

Note: the student must finish the respective Project Progress work before the review sessions, or the course cannot guarantee a prompt and prestigious final essay.
