翰林邀請(qǐng)到在牛津大學(xué)本科招生部實(shí)習(xí)過的學(xué)姐，總結(jié)在申請(qǐng)過程中的幾大誤區(qū)，避免這些“雷區(qū)”，離你的牛劍夢(mèng)再近一步！

從牛津大學(xué)官方信息看來，每個(gè)部門的面試錄取標(biāo)準(zhǔn)有所不同，也沒有一個(gè)統(tǒng)一的公式, 并且這些公式僅作為Tutor的一個(gè)參考。

下面舉例的是BMAT的影響：

誤區(qū)一

沒有一個(gè)好的GCSE成績，對(duì)于牛劍沒有希望申請(qǐng)了

If applicants have not taken GCSEs or IGCSEs the ranking is based on BMAT score alone. This ranking forms the basis of an initial shortlist. See below for further details as to how the ranking score is calculated.

校內(nèi)模考的AS成績不重要，只需要入學(xué)考試考好就行了

As we short-list the same number of people every year, and we use two variables (which carry the same weight), there is no actual cut-off for either BMAT or GCSEs. How well you need to do in the BMAT in order to be short-listed will be entirely dependent on how well every other applicant does, and how well you have done in GCSEs (if you have taken them). A slightly weaker performance at GCSE may be compensated for by a very good BMAT score, and vice-versa.

12月面試被pool, 那肯定沒有希望了

The applications of candidates who do not make the initial shortlist are reviewed by tutors, taking into account any individual circumstances - both academic and on-academic - that might indicate that GCSE and/or BMAT performance is likely to have underestimated their potential. Any applicants deemed worthy of further consideration are then reviewed by a cross-college panel, alongside applicants immediately below the initial shortlist. As a result of this process around 40 additional applicants are added to the shortlist.

不同學(xué)院收到的申請(qǐng)人數(shù)是不一樣的，有些學(xué)院可能在面試輪就名額爆滿，所以有一些同學(xué)直接被送入第二，第三學(xué)院面試，而沒有第一學(xué)院面試，這是完全正常的。

一個(gè)學(xué)院會(huì)根據(jù)這個(gè)學(xué)生在他收到的學(xué)生面試水平中排一個(gè)高低，一些專業(yè)會(huì)提供自動(dòng)分配的兩次學(xué)院面試以外提供Pooling機(jī)會(huì)。劍橋有不少在一月份重新面試的Pooling機(jī)會(huì)，有時(shí)候即使收到一個(gè)學(xué)院的拒信，可能不過多久，來了另一個(gè)學(xué)院的面試機(jī)會(huì)。

我的學(xué)校從來沒有出過牛劍學(xué)生，那我也沒有這個(gè)可能

在牛津大學(xué)本科招生部實(shí)習(xí)過一周，像頂尖學(xué)校會(huì)鼓勵(lì)一下比較落后地方的學(xué)生的就讀，如果你考了89分，而你所在學(xué)校平均分是60分，然而另一個(gè)貴族學(xué)校同學(xué)考91分，他們學(xué)校平均分是85分，那這位來自落后地方的學(xué)生是不會(huì)被歧視的。

同時(shí)，學(xué)校開展了很多暑期，春季先修項(xiàng)目，來disadvantaged學(xué)生申請(qǐng)。所以如果同學(xué)在一所從來沒有錄取過牛劍的學(xué)校，并不用擔(dān)心自己沒有可能。

Calculation of ranking score:

All applicants are ranked on the basis of the following equation:

Ranking score = 0.74 * normalised BMAT score (40 : 40 : 20) + 0.74 *contextualized GCSE score where (40 : 40 : 20) reflects the weighting given respectively to the three BMAT sections and contextualized GCSE score represents a combination of the number of A* at GCSE and the proportion of GCSE adjusted for school performance.

Where GCSEs were not taken, the BMAT score is ‘doubled-up’ in the equation.

大家不需要對(duì)這里列舉出的數(shù)字細(xì)節(jié)做太多的琢磨，這里官方?jīng)]有寫到AS成績，在小編看來，這個(gè)AS成績是非常重要的。

這里GCSE主要針對(duì)在英國讀GCSE的同學(xué)的，所以不用太擔(dān)心。總而言之，GCSE A星越多越好，AS也是A星越多越好。如果你有著GCSE黑歷史，別擔(dān)心，用一個(gè)出色的AS和入學(xué)測(cè)試成績來獲得教授的青睞。已經(jīng)向一個(gè)教授證實(shí)，一個(gè)全A星的AS預(yù)測(cè)可以compensate一些入學(xué)考試的不測(cè)。

的確，申請(qǐng)牛劍的學(xué)生越來越多，申請(qǐng)?jiān)絹碓诫y，但是同時(shí)身處這邊的同學(xué)們明顯感覺到對(duì)中國學(xué)生的擴(kuò)招（一個(gè)說法是脫歐影響）。

比如說：牛津PPE開始招國內(nèi)的國際高中同學(xué)了，比較小眾的材料系人數(shù)也是以往的翻倍，所以還是很有可能的。當(dāng)然，必須承認(rèn)的是，申請(qǐng)牛劍的中國學(xué)生人數(shù)大幅增加，所以還是需要付出很大的努力！

◾同學(xué)們，不用太糾結(jié)入學(xué)公式，上面的例子僅僅只是BMAT考試的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

◾更多時(shí)候看的是教授的眼緣，所以小編在給同學(xué)們輔導(dǎo)面試時(shí)候，一再強(qiáng)調(diào)，要有表現(xiàn)力，要有熱情，但面試時(shí)候遇到一個(gè)冷眼旁觀的教授，也不用害怕，有些教授是本來就是這個(gè)性格的。

◾有時(shí)間應(yīng)該琢磨一下各大學(xué)術(shù)活動(dòng)，以及做一些相關(guān)的實(shí)習(xí)，如果能做一些Research Internship 那么再好不過了！
