“課程是清華附中國際部的核心”。作為國際部的傳統(tǒng)，全體學生的家長將于每個學年的伊始，受邀參加課程說明會。屆時班主任與任課老師將會依次亮相，詳細介紹本學年的課程安排。Curriculum is at the heart of what we do at THIS. As one of our unique traditions, parents of all students are invited to attend the curriculum afternoon at the beginning of each school year. This is a special opportunity for parents to listen to each of their child’s teachers who provide information about what students will learn during the school year.
Sep 11課程說明會Curriculum Afternoon
2019年9月11日下午，熱情的家長接踵而至，全體老師也做足了準備，力求在有限的下午，增進家長對國際部的課程設(shè)置、學生校園生活的了解。
On the afternoon of September 11, all teachers got prepared to welcome parents, hoping to increase their understanding of the school’s curriculum and campus life.
小學部Primary School
一至五年級的學生家長集體參加了清華附中國際部的小學課程說明會。小學部主任以及教師代表向家長們介紹了國際部的小學概況、課程概況、期望與要求，并在大會尾聲設(shè)置了簡短而精彩的互動環(huán)節(jié)。課程說明會為家長提供了溝通的平臺，拉近了老師與家長的距離。
Parents of students from grade one to five participated in the THIS primary school curriculum afternoon, where the primary director and the representative teachers gave an overview of primary curriculum and introduced expectations and policies for all primary students. The Curriculum Afternoon strengthens the bonds between parents and teachers and builds a platform where parents can share information with each other.
中學部Secondary School
中學部的課程說明會分為兩部分：由班主任主持的班級活動，以及由任課老師主導的課程介紹。在班級活動中，各班班主任設(shè)計了個性化的內(nèi)容，有的班級介紹了本班學生的團隊建設(shè)活動、有的班級邀請家長體驗“部落教學”方法，還有的班級給家長分發(fā)了彩紙和筆，請他們寫下十年后想對孩子說的話…
The curriculum afternoon for secondary school was divided into two parts: class activities organized by homeroom teachers, and curriculum presentations given by every curriculum teacher. Homeroom teachers designed rich activities, including recaps of the community building trips, and Tribes workshop activities.

課程介紹以年級為單位，任課老師依次就課程內(nèi)容、學習目標以及評價方式做簡要概述。國際部立足西方“以人為本”的教育理念，在充分借鑒西方教育模式的基礎(chǔ)上，注重中西文化的滲透融合。此次課程說明會，家長既感受到了專業(yè)深入的中文和中國歷史的教學，又看到了富有創(chuàng)意、極具國際視野的STEAM課程和人文學科等。

Each teacher gave a brief overview on the course content, learning objectives and evaluation methods associated with their classes. There was clear evidence in all the presentations that THIS bases on the western “people-oriented” educational philosophy, and at the same time pays attention to the integration of Chinese and Western cultures. Parents experienced the professional Chinese and Chinese history class through the curriculum presentations, and also got to know the creative STEAM and humanities courses with international perspectives.
活動與講座Information Sessions
除課程展示外，國際部還針對10、11、12年級的家長開設(shè)了升學指導說明會。為剛升入高中的學生家長講解升學流程和考試安排，幫助他們未雨綢繆；為站在十字路口的12年級家長解疑答惑，幫助他們平穩(wěn)度過升學季。
In addition, information sessions were arranged for high school parents, helping them successfully navigate the process to college.
面向新生家長開設(shè)的PowerSchool培訓講座旨在讓家長熟悉孩子日常使用的教學系統(tǒng)，幫助他們實現(xiàn)在線學生成績、作業(yè)和考勤情況的查詢，使家長更好地參與到孩子的學習中。
PowerSchool training was provided to explained the usage of the school’s online system. Parents will be able to be better involved in their child’s study by checking on their assignments, grades and attendance using PowerSchool.
面向全體中學家長的國內(nèi)外考察旅行說明會介紹了國際部在學年始末組織的國內(nèi)考察活動，以及學生社團參與的國內(nèi)外各項賽事。展現(xiàn)了國際部長久以來對學生活動的支持，并鼓勵每一個孩子走出校園，擁抱多彩的世界。
The domestic and international trips information session introduced both domestic filed trips organized by THIS and international events and competitions participated in by different student clubs. THIS always supports student activities and encourages them to embrace the diverse world.
伴著落日余暉，清華附中國際部2019-2020學年課程說明會順利落幕。再次感謝百忙之中仍積極參與的家長。我們堅信，在老師和家長的共同努力下，每一名學生都可以在國際部發(fā)掘潛能，創(chuàng)造精彩。
THIS 2019-2020 curriculum afternoon ended successfully at sunset. We want to express our thanks to all parents for coming. We believe that with the joint effort of the school and families, all THIS students, regardless of their various academic aspirations, will have the support to develop their full potential, strive for excellence, and become responsible, caring and productive citizens.
