美國(guó)大學(xué) SPS 繼續(xù)教育學(xué)院學(xué)歷不被中國(guó)認(rèn)可？

關(guān)于SPS 有很多爭(zhēng)議，甚至成為一個(gè)諱莫如深的東西。有不少學(xué)生對(duì)名校虎視眈眈，但又怕自己的申請(qǐng)背景能不能進(jìn)入，這個(gè)時(shí)候 SPS 就成為一個(gè)選擇。從這幾年的情況看，SPS 的錄取難度確實(shí)會(huì)更寬松一些。其實(shí)美國(guó)大學(xué)一直有繼續(xù)教育學(xué)院，但以往國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)生選擇美國(guó)大學(xué)的 SPS (Professional Studies, Extension School,Continuing Studies, Advancing Studies) 就讀的學(xué)生比較罕見，但近年來，尤其是選擇哥倫比亞大學(xué)和紐約大學(xué)SPS就讀的學(xué)生非常多，一方面滿足了學(xué)生進(jìn)入名校的預(yù)期，同時(shí)課程的開設(shè)比較符合就業(yè)訴求，有不少課程設(shè)置非常豐富且很有特色。那么，其實(shí)對(duì)于國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)生而言，最為擔(dān)心的一個(gè)事情便是：SPS 學(xué)位畢業(yè)后回國(guó)是不是會(huì)受到質(zhì)疑，或不被認(rèn)可。

今天，我特別聯(lián)系了之前一位從哥倫比亞大學(xué)SPS 研究生畢業(yè)回國(guó)發(fā)展的同學(xué)。她之前申請(qǐng)了哥倫比亞大學(xué)兩個(gè)不同學(xué)院的專業(yè)，同時(shí)被錄取，按照常理，大多數(shù)人會(huì)選擇非 SPS 選項(xiàng)，但是通過對(duì)課程設(shè)置的研究，她還是放棄了教育和經(jīng)濟(jì)專業(yè)，堅(jiān)定選擇了哥倫比亞大學(xué)SPS的她更感興趣的專業(yè)。此外，她在對(duì)比兩個(gè)學(xué)院的時(shí)候發(fā)現(xiàn)，SPS的學(xué)生和其他學(xué)院的學(xué)生所用的學(xué)籍和教務(wù)系統(tǒng)完全一致，TC（教育學(xué)院）有單獨(dú)的教務(wù)系統(tǒng)。由此可見，SPS完全屬于正常的學(xué)院管理系統(tǒng)。畢業(yè)前夕就落實(shí)了國(guó)內(nèi)的工作，畢業(yè)后一星期已經(jīng)順利入職，單位領(lǐng)導(dǎo)非常器重。她自己承認(rèn)，除了個(gè)人的努力，學(xué)歷的加持在其中也起了不小的作用。

在收到電子畢業(yè)證后（紙質(zhì)版她選擇了郵寄回國(guó)），她也順利完成了中國(guó)教育部留學(xué)服務(wù)中心的學(xué)位的認(rèn)證證書，這個(gè)認(rèn)證明晃晃地說明，該學(xué)位和其他學(xué)位毫無二致。這里，也希望選擇 SPS 項(xiàng)目的各位也可以消除顧慮，尤其是家長(zhǎng)同志們，也不要因此而憂心忡忡寢食難安。

特別需要對(duì)大家都非常關(guān)心的哥倫比亞大學(xué)證書做個(gè)說明：除了除了左下角有寫SPS，表明是哪個(gè)學(xué)院畢業(yè)的（全校都如此），其他別無二致。

據(jù)知乎上知友的反饋，哈佛 ExtensionSchool 跟其他學(xué)校的 SPS 還是略有區(qū)別的。哈佛大學(xué) Extension Schoo 的學(xué)位證書會(huì)帶有 “Masterof ... in Extension School” 字樣。其他學(xué)校的 SPS 學(xué)院頒發(fā)的學(xué)位證書，均只顯示碩士種類（“Master of ...”）。

這位學(xué)生就是一位對(duì)自己的規(guī)劃十分明確的典型。本科成績(jī)的劣勢(shì)限制了她對(duì)名校的追求。雖然語(yǔ)言成績(jī)中等，但是她的實(shí)習(xí)經(jīng)歷非常貼合哥倫比亞大學(xué)SPS和TC的兩個(gè)專業(yè)。她的申請(qǐng)對(duì)于我們來說也非常有挑戰(zhàn)：本科專業(yè)成績(jī)很差，還要追求藤校，所以我們根據(jù)她的背景和綜合考量，為她推薦了哥倫比亞大學(xué)的SPS學(xué)院。入學(xué)后通過親身經(jīng)歷證明，SPS 的課業(yè)壓力并不比其他學(xué)院小，日常泡圖書館到晚上十一二點(diǎn)是常事。SPS 的一個(gè)特點(diǎn)就是一些老師平時(shí)有自己的主業(yè)，且都是業(yè)界大拿（如投行合伙人等），從另一角度看這也是 SPS 難得的資源：學(xué)院領(lǐng)導(dǎo)和老師非常負(fù)責(zé)任，會(huì)為學(xué)生們推薦自己的人脈關(guān)系。不管是之后有留美計(jì)劃的學(xué)生，還是為了追求名校頭銜之后想要回國(guó)工作的學(xué)生，申請(qǐng) SPS 可謂是捷徑。

在之前，我們也針對(duì)這個(gè)問題，特意給一些設(shè)置 SPS 學(xué)院的大學(xué)去了郵件，以下是有回復(fù)的一些大學(xué)反饋，供大家參考。

Thank you for contacting Harvard Extension School!I want to know whether master degree programs are specially designed for working professionals who want to advance their careers through graduate study or undergraduate students currently studying in college?You have to have earned a bachelors degree before starting graduate level work here at the Harvard Extension School. Our graduate programs are typically geared toward working professionals but are open to anyone who has earned a bachelors degree.Are there some differences with course offerings between master programs offered at other schools and extension?I cannot speak to offerings at other universities but we have a unique process here that I have outlined below.
Harvard Extension School?degree programsoffer students a flexible, affordable opportunity for academic and professional advancement. We have a non-traditional admissions process that varies slightly by program. Unlike other programs where students apply, are admitted, and then start taking courses, the basic admission requirement for all of our degree programs is that students take courses first. We care more about current academic performance than past academic performance.
Students will need to complete two or three Harvard Extension School courses towards admission, and meet the GPA requirement for the degree program before applying. The degree courses vary by program and count toward the completion of a degree.On the?website, students will find detailed?application and admission requirementsfor each field of study.
Are there any requirements for applicants' education background?
The only requirements are that students must have earned their bachelor's degree prior to enrolling in graduate courses towards their degree.
Additionally, students whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency. About Executive MS in Strategic Communication
The?Executive M.S. in Strategic Communicationis a part-time, 16-month program that focuses on the critical thinking, analysis, and practical skills essential to developing and implementing communications strategies that advance an organization’s goals and mission.??Most applicants are currently in a communications role, and a minimum of six years of experience is required. The Executive Master of Science in Strategic Communications is an intensive, accelerated, graduate-level education program for motivated individuals who have already demonstrated professional leadership.
